Design Process
....
Brief
Incase's line of sports armbands has served well in this category. As new devices and their features continue to change, so does the need to improve and reimagine the next evolution of Incase's active accessories.
....
Conceptual Direction
The concept is driven toward a simplified construction with less stitching, thinner border profiles, increased stretchability, and more color options.
....
Technical Drawing
Specs and features identified for rapid sample-making and testing for initial product development.
....
Tech-Pack Alterations
Several design iterations were created to narrow down and refine the best feature sets for initial sample-making.
....
Sample Testing
Based on insights gained from the initial mockup sample, the final design addressed key issues and added functionality to the legacy armband.
In order to increase its longevity, the final design included stitching on either side of the door to prevent delamination over extended use.
....
Manufacturing
Traveled to Shenzhen, China to oversee manufacturing of the incase armband. Insured design integrity throughout production. Directly interfaced with manufacturers and ensured quality control procedures were met.
